Scottish Christmas,a finish, a film and a book

Nothing special this week except for the snow.It is still snowing at this very moment but according to the weatherman it'll turn into rain later this afternoon. But no complaints, we've got some lovely new photos for  all the blogs  and I know my friends in Scotland ,France , Canada  and other parts of the world, will laugh as they see our "snow" they've got an awful lot more  snow to deal with...Take care girls...
I finished another little ornament last week, Merry Christmas.I think it's a little but cheerful one with bright colours.I've tried to make a better photo of it but it just doesn't work..Sorry.
The film "Joyeux Noël " is a must see.A great one... and an excellent choice for this time of the year. The  book is very sweet, awfully soft but oh so nice to read ,especially with a pot of tea and loads of cake..
Found the Scotland Christmas Image on the internet and fell in love with it.One day I hope to celebrate Christmas and Hogmanay in Scotland...

A book,a film and an update

Last week I bought a wonderful book at Amazon's.It is written by Jean Baggott and the title is "The Girl On The Wall". A must have for stitchers and history lovers.Jean created an exquisite tapestry consisting of 73 circles, giving a unique portrait of everyday life for the working class people in the West Midlands last century.I can't wait to read it. Then there's a film I'd like to recommend .It's called "Bright Star"and it's about the love between John Keats ( one of Britain's best poets) and Fanny Brawne. A lovely film, all romance of course, but I really liked it.

And then the stitching part, I worked on the darning sampler and I'm starting to like the colour... next week I will start the darning part, in two colours...The little girl who made the sampler , Stephanie Desmidt lived in Millam , a small town in the Northern part of France, I was just wondering what Millam looked like so I found this photo on the internet.....

Het is geschreven door Jean Baggott en heet "The Girl On The Wall ".

Yesterday I have been watching a great, romantic and very very sweet film "Nights in Rodanthe" with Richard Gere, what a gorgeous man . ( although Pierce Brosnan is still my absolute favourite ) I didn't feel very well and such a film can do miracles with your mood. Doing nothing and enjoy. After that I pulled out my Celtic Autumn, to do some stitches. At the moment I don't like to do big projects, but every once in a while I look at it and do a few small parts and that's ok for now
.Hugs and take care Erna
