Home made from Scotland and a brandnew start

First I'd like to thank you all for the warm and caring words about Ben's hospital period also on behalf of himself.He's been in and out of the hospital all week but is recovering well. A couple of months ago I found Karon's weblog and website.Karon writes about her life in Scotland but she also makes the most adorable thingies, which your can order on her website.I fell in love with her Failte goodies, especially the little heart and decided to order it together with some hand made cards.Last Friday when I got home from a dull day at work , I had to work in the city centre department of our hospital, and you "do" that all alone, her package arrived.The hearts are so sweet and their scent......they're filled with Scottish herbs......I made one a kind of keyring.....so my whole handbag smells very Scottish..... ( a wee bit homesick again ).... The cards and the totebag are simply gorgeous.
Not much stitching done but I started The Eiffel Quaker by Jardin Privé, yes still in my French period..., on 55 count linen and the colours of the threads are, as usual, pink and a white one by Atalie with a shade of pink named Rose...
Eerst wilde ik iedereen even bedanken voor de warme woorden en de lieve emails na Ben's ziekenhuis opname verleden week, ook namens hemzelf.Het was een week van ziekenhuis in en ziekenhuis uit maar gelukkig gaat het nu allemaal goed, hoewel het wel even een plekje moet gaan krijgen...
Een paar maanden geleden vond ik al internettende de website en weblog van Karon. Karon woont in Schotland en schrijft over haar leven daar. Ze heeft ook online winkeltje waar ze de leukste dingetjes verkoopt. Ik was onmiddelijk verkocht toen ik haar Failte serie zag.Zo Schots, dus ik kon het niet laten om het één en ander bij haar te bestellen.Gisteren toen ik thuis kwam van een ontzettend saaie dag op het werk, ik moest op onze ziekenhuispost in de binnenstad van Amsterdam werken, waar je dus helemaal alleen zit..., vond ik Karon's pakketje in de bus.De hartjes zijn zo lief, en ze zijn gevuld met Schotse kruiden.Ik heb van één een sleutelhanger gemaakt, dus mijn hele handtas ruikt naar Schotland ( en ja hoor weer een beetje heimwee ...)En de kaarten en de tas zijn gewoonweg schattig....
Niet veel geborduurd deze week maar ik ben begonnen met De Eiffel Quaker van Jardin Privé.
Ik zit nog steeds een beetje in mijn Franse periode. Op 22 draads linnen met zoals gewoonlijk roze garen en een witte van Atalie met een heel licht roze tintje, genaamd Rose.....

A new start for a lovely brother

Thanks for all the sweet and warm words in response of my last post.The blood pressure and dizzyness was caused by some kind of an inflammation in my auditory channel and sinusses.I feel better now ....Though stitching is simmering I started a new small project.A couple of weeks ago I bought some placemats at Albert Heijn (That's the Ducth Tesco...) I had no idea what to do with them but I had to buy them....I hope you recognize the feeling .....After long thinking I decided to stitch a monogram on one of them , for my brother Ben.As Ben collects orange glassware the colour was easy .... Number 351 by DMC. The letter B is from Valérie Lejeune's Cross Stitch Letters Bible nr 2.A great book, I bought in Paris last February.
Ontzettend bedankt voor alle lieve en warme woorden naar aanleiding van mijn laatste postje.De bloeddruk en duizeligheid worden veroorzaakt door een soort van ontsteking in mijn gehoorgang en sinussen.Ik voel me gelukkig wat beter nu....

Hoewel het borduren hierdoor even op een laag pitje staat ben ik toch met een nieuw klein projectje begonnen.Een paar weken geleden vond ik bij AH een paar schattige placemats.Ik had geen idee wat ik ermee moest, maar ik moest ze gewoon kopen. Ik hoop dat jullie het gevoel herkennen.....
Na lang denken heb ik besloten er een monogram op te borduren, voor mijn broertje Ben.Ben spaart oranjeachtig glaswerk dus de kleur was makkelijk Nummer 351 van DMC.De letter B vond ik in Valérie Lejeune's Cross Stitch Letters Bible nr 2.Een mooi boek dat ik op de beurs in Parijs heb gekocht in februari...
